There is a War
by Tom Basden
A miniature epic that explores
the mad savagery of war
There is a War is a darkly comic and surreal play that explores the idiocy and savagery of war. Set in a war-torn land, the play follows a group of soldiers and civilians as they navigate the chaos and brutality of conflict; trapped in a cycle of violence and despair, struggling to make sense of their situation and maintain their sanity. Basden's play asks us to question our assumptions about war and its consequences and to consider the human toll of violence and aggression.
“We’re not fighting for anything.
We’re just fighting.”
