What happens when a private photo goes public?

Leilah is starting to wonder if her Instagram feels more like a burden than ‘living her best life’.

Aarron is learning how to be a man online and it’s starting to feel toxic.

Maisy’s not that into sex, thank you very much. So why’s everyone always talking about it?

Billy’s queer and proud, accepted by their friends but ignored by the education system. They’re tired of feeling invisible.

Can these four friends break through the noise and make real change offline?

Birds and Bees is a bold film exploring teenage relationships, online pressure, and identity in a hyperconnected world. It follows four teenagers as they navigate sex, consent, gender and visibility, with their stories unfolding through spoken word, humour, and vulnerability.

Commissioned by Theatre Centre and directed by me, the piece was developed with Year 10 and 11 students and their teachers to support the Drama and RSE curriculums. The film version reached over 60,000 viewers, streamed via schools and Soho Theatre On Demand.

Birds and Bees is honest, inclusive, and deeply relevant, created to spark real conversations in classrooms and beyond.
