i graduated from the university of leeds in 2001 with a First Class Honours Degree in dramaturgy. when I realised that no one knew what a dramaturg was I called myself a director!

i have directed work in variety of settings including the soho theatre, stratford circus, the royal court, on a ship, in a community centre, in a garden, a tunnel and an underground art gallery. i have a breadth of experience of working through a devising process as well as working with writers and designers to create inspiring, significant and provocative theatre.

i have also been successfully designing, delivering and leading theatre programmes for the past 10 years and have experienced firsthand the powerful impact culture has on people; from delivering a youth theatre in hemel hempstead at the beginning of my career to embedding an integrated arts programme for ‘at risk’ young people in East London.

i am currently the youth programme manager at the national theatre and creative associate at if you dare productions.
